Community Policing is a philosophy and an organizational strategy that relies on the cooperation between citizens and their police agencies to create and maintain a healthy community for everyone.


The police and the community work together to identify, prioritize, and solve problems such as crime, drugs, fear of crime, and overall neighborhood decay with the goal of improving the quality of life in our city.  The Beat Management Teams are the cornerstone of Springfield's law enforcement partner.

Community Policing meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the PPCC.  The meeting dates for 2012 are as follows:
